🛠️ Amazing things made by others#
Research#
BioRender : my go-to tool for making publication-quality scientific figures and illustrations… since 2018. Templates are great for getting started, and the icon library covers most of what you’d need for neuroscience and biomedical work.
Scite.ai : A smarter citation tool — instead of just showing you where a paper was cited, it tells you how: whether it was supported, contrasted, or just mentioned. Invaluable for literature reviews and sanity-checking a paper’s reception.
Zotero : a fantastic free and open-source citation manager (with a MS Word plug-in, in case that’s your cup of tea).
Development & Productivity#
VS Code : My main editor.
Todoist : Task manager with excellent template support. I rely heavily on project templates for recurring workflows.
JustFocus : A minimal Pomodoro timer for Mac. No frills, does exactly what it says. And you can add your favorite quotes.
Inbox When Ready : handy extension for Gmail users. Hides your inbox from you so don’t sign in, immediately get distracted and forget why you signed in the first place.
